Second Consortium Meeting
Universiti Malaya has successfully organised the second Consortium Meeting of the Erasmus+ project OPEN-ASIA: Boosting engagement of HEIs in Open Science in India and Malaysia –Reference No 101128493. The meeting was hosted at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 21-22 October 2024, bringing together over 25 delegates from nine partner institutions from Malaysia, India, Finland, Slovenia, and the Netherlands.
The Consortium Meeting is important for the partner institutions to assess the project’s timeline and progress. The meeting began with a welcoming remark by the Universiti Malaya Project Lead Professor Ir Dr Shaliza Ibrahim, and followed by Open Asia Project’s Co-coordinator Dr.Olesea Sirbu. Among the highlights from the meeting include discussions on each work packages covering several key aspects such as:
- Project websites, branding and dissemination strategies
- Open Science readiness survey tools
- Open Science formal and informal curricula
- Infrastructure and science shop
- Financial management and quality control
The meeting was concluded by a virtual presentation on the upcoming International Conference on Open Science 2025 that was presented by SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed-to-be-University.
In a nutshell, the meeting successfully strengthened the project alignment among partner institutions, contributing towards successful achievement of key deliverables, outputs and outcomes of the project.
