SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed-to-be-University, the Grant Coordinator of the Erasmus+ project OPEN-ASIA: Boosting engagement of HEIs in Open Science in India and Malaysia –Reference No 101128493, organized the 1st Consortium meeting on 19th -20th March 2024 with all partner institutions involved in the project. The Open Asia Project is funded by the European Commission – Executive Agency for Education, Audiovisual and Culture – within the Erasmus+ program and it will be realized together with partner institutions from India, Malaysia, Finland, Slovenia, and the Netherlands.
The meeting began with an Indian traditional way of lighting the lamp by representatives of each partner institute and chanting Saraswati Vandana (an Indian Prayer). A warm welcome was given by Dr. Sharad Mhaiskar, Pro-Vice Chancellor of NMIMS, followed by Open-Asia Project Grant coordinator Ms.Meena Saxena, Director- Department of International Linkages- NMIMS gave an overview of the project. Open Asia Project’s Co-coordinator Dr.Olesea Sirbu, Founder & President -of EDPRI led the consortium meeting, she spoke about the vision and the objectives of the project that each partner should follow.
